Belated Birthday Wishes!

This is so, so late but... Happy Belated Birthday to Nate! It was last Wednesday... so this is really belated, no excuse outside of laziness here! :)

Things were pretty, 'relaxed' for Nate's birthday this year... I worked on the day of, and the day after, so he went out with some guys on Wednesday and then the Friday we went for dinner together and planned to use the rest of the weekend as a weekend for him to do whatever he chose! However, a nasty little norovirus decided that I was going to spend the weekend on the couch, in my pajamas on a strict diet of gingerale and Jell-O. And Nate, being the loving husband that he is spent his weekend watching movies with me, rubbing my back, buying me foods my tummy could handle and overall trying to make me feel better. He said he had a great weekend regardless, but our next weekend off together I'll try and think up a fun surprise for him!

Who doesn't love DQ Cake?!
Nate's gift from me this year ended up being on back order, so we are still awaiting it's arrival, I'll post on it when it comes! But part of his gift from his parents is soo cute I had to share it!

He happened to be wearing the most appropriate pajama shirt EVER when he opened it... which made it extra awesome (hard to tell in the pictures but it's a minion tshirt!)

Nate loves minions like I love penguins, so when his Mom saw some kids in her Awana Cubbies group wearing them, she asked their Mom if she could make one for her (grown up but still a kid at heart) son!

Love it!

Surprise Birthday Gift!

For those that don't know, my husband has been sporting a beard since our wedding. Nate's goal was to go full blown Duck Dynasty style (I know, I can feel you cringing from here). Now while we may love that show, and get a good chuckle at their appearance, I can't say I'd be pleased to have my handsome hubby turn into a hairy nightmare.

Well, the day before my birthday I came home from Bible study to an awfully big and unexpected surprise, I'll let the pictures tell the story!

The beard was actually growing on me, I had told him if he kept it neat I'd probably actually love it! But his mane needed some serious taming.

The picture above makes me chuckle!

Hair and beared trimmed! There's my handsome man!

Next time I jokingly say 'I bet you can't grow a beard like that!', I'll learn to bite my tongue!

Something Sparkly This Way Comes...

As you all know, we have two adorable, albeit a little bit crazy, kittens; Foxy and Nimbus. Since getting them in August of the Buy & Sell Board at my work they have stolen our hearts, and driven us crazy.

Aren't they the cutest? Needless to say the 'Little Dude' and 'Little Girl' as we call them (we hardly use their names, I often wonder if we should just forget them) are growing up, and discovering things like: Jumping on the counter, sleeping in the fruit basket, and the worst of all: attacking our couch.

The Great Declaw Debate has gone on between Nate & I for months, and I mean months. Pretty much since we got the pair of them, but Nate said ultimately it was up to me. I've always been on the fence, and after doing my research (seriously, I spent hours researching on line and talking to my vet.. I was not taking this lightly!) I decided I just could not do that to them. Nate teases me that I'm a 'crazy cat lady' (Hey! Even if I am, he married me! ;) ), but they are my first attempt at keeping something more complex than a goldfish alive, on my own. They honestly are my children who happen to walk on their hands and feet, and are covered with fur.

We tried everything, spraying with water, noise, putting a scratching post nearby, special 'no scratch spray' nothing worked. I think they're immune just to drive us nuts! So we decided to try: Kitty Caps. They're awesome! They are essentially false nails for your cat, but they cannot scratch you or destroy things with them!

I'm sharing this mostly because I need you need to see my male cat wearing pink, sparkly nails! It cracks me up every time!

As you can tell, he's very hurt by this. It's affected his masculinity so much....

As long as you provide him with pets, and loving he is one happy cat! Foxy also has them on, but because of her longer fur you honestly cannot see them so I didn't share a picture.

If you've got cats that scratch you and damage your couches, I highly suggest looking into Kitty Caps or Soft Claws!

They're Here!!!

Sorry for the lack of posts in the last few weeks, but honestly nothing exciting has happened at all... Until Friday!

Almost three months to the day (which is pretty AMAZING turn around time.. it just feels like forever) I got the text from our photographer that our album had arrived!! Now she said we could either: Wait until she mailed it to us, which she said she would stick it in the box Monday morning so it would probably be a week or so before it arrived OR if we wanted, we could drive out to her place to pick it up. So we took a roadtrip out to Delhi, and picked it up! I couldn't wait to see it! Also very fitting was that Friday was the day I went an changed my last name... I'm officially a Ravensberg!

The album is GORGEOUS, and I love it. But I am amazed at what she did with our wedding photos. When she told me she was putting them on a USB I panicked, trying to think of a place to store it and not lose it... But look at how it came! So neat, I love it!

But without further ado I'll share some of our favourite pictures from our big day!

Fair warning... I had a hard time narrowing it down to 50ish. It's a bit of a marathon but it could always be worse!

Best idea from Pinterest, EVER!

Wouldn't have been pefect without a picture with my sweet girl!

Beautiful flowers from Richmond Florist!

Another amazing Pinterest idea... Saved me from having to print 100 programs!

Isn't he handsome? So handsome!

I love that some of the black and white ones look like we got married 100 years ago... So pretty!

What a beautiful day? Can we do it again, just without all the planning? Actually can I just put my dress on, get my hair and makeup done and eat cake? That'd be great too!

All photos were taken by Krista at Hillview Studio. She's AMAZING and incredibly reasonably priced and we're so glad we found her! We will definitely be going back for all of our photography needs!! Check her out if you need any shots done, wedding, family, baby bump whatever! So fun to work with and so easy going, plus she does some AMAZING natural light photography!
